Arrested to Arrested Development: 116 - Altar Egos
"You should have stuck around to see me get some major action. From a major blonde. Who just "majored" in marine biology, if you know what I mean."
"No, I don't know what you mean. I can't imagine what that means."
In a final attempt to create a new continuous story line, the show pulls us from under the rug in a series of twists featured in running episodes involving Papa Bluth's trial and a suspiciously blind Elaine Bennis, in what was essentially a great last hook to rope in the arrested audience.
"You're a crook, Captain Hook"
The trial of Captain Hook would be a traumatizing flashback for Michael; one that would be a predecessor for many of the twists that hook its audiences in the following episodes.
With few great moments such as the revelation that Jane Lynch was a mole for the government but fell in love with George Michael Sr. and rather enjoyed nipple-tweaking between the chainlink fence,
the continually obvious fact that Henry Winkler's Barry is such an absurdly awful lawyer
("Oh, I could kiss you on the nuts!")
Asking the hooker if she's a man and speeding off when she reveals she's not.
...or the spontaneous decision Gob makes to marry Amy Pohler on a dare (who would later become his real life wife) who happens to train seals (foreshadowing the many seals of cille's to come)...

...The true highlight of the episode is Michael's run-in with Maggie, a seemingly normal, spunky, fun gal he meets at a bar which ultimately leads to what Michael believes to be a one-night stand.
When it is revealed that Maggie is blind, however (and it is hilarious)...
Michael: So tell me something personal about yourself.
Maggie: Uh, well, I have an irreversible case of ocular retinoblastoma.
Michael: Hey, I thought we said no more law talk.
- Another flashback
Michael: I really can’t see anybody right now.
Maggie: Well, I can’t see anybody ever.
- Another flashback
Maggie: I’m blind.
Michael: I’m wasted!
...Michael's stand would feel rude if it be just one night. So he offers to keep seeing her, she believing he's doing it out of pity, he doing it... Out of pity. We meet her seeing-eye dog Justice and it is only at this moment where we step into a series of very unfortunate events that the audience never sees coming...
- The first twist of this plot line is that Maggie is blind.
- The second twist, we find out she's the most feared lawyer in Orange County... out of pity.
- The second twist continues when it is revealed she is not only a lawyer, but George Michael Sr's prosecutor.
- The third twist is that she gives an unsuspecting Michael, under a false identity and literally about to confess himself, everything she has on the Bluth family to give him some "lawyer homework."
But Michael's not the only one under a false identity...
And so, the twists continue...
