Arrested to Arrested Development: 107 - In God We Trust
"He's a never-nude."
"...Is that exactly what it sounds like?"
More truth and honesty show up in this episode as secrets are exposed and genitals are not exposed.
This was another typical but as I don't need to explain, great episode, the highlight being Tobias' secret of not being able to be naked finally reaching the surface, the lowlights being George Michael wearing his muscle suit for the pageant-recreation of Adam under his clothes to appear buff in order to impress Maeby, Michael attempting to learn Spanish in order to impress Gob's Marta and Lucille's attempts to spread gossip about her children to her children for selfish reasons.
The major up for me was Tobias' shame in admitting he can't be nude, especially when asking George Michael why he can't hand over the muscle suit.
George Michael: "I'm wearing it now. I can't tell you why. I have to wear it all the time. You'd never understand."
Tobias: "Oh please, I'll nev--I'll never understand!? ...That you can never be nude!?
*Strips down to his underwear*
Tobias: "I understand more than you'll... Ever know."
He still has baby fat on his face.
I appreciated Gob's jealousy or rather, shock at the idea of his brother flying to South America for Marta, when in actuality Maeby faked the idea of fleeing the country in an attempt to get her parents to notice her. The real kicker was when Gob was chasing Michael down the sidewalk on the segway but Michael wasn't running; a brief but brilliant moment of stupidity.
As was expected to happen sooner or later, Buster and Lucille 2's secret "relationship" exploded at the pageant, after Buster attempted to avoid her at all costs, in front of everybody...
...including Lucille 1.
Michael and Lindsay ended up truly bonding for once after their mother tossed bad words around one and spread it to the other...
George Michael Sr. was allowed one afternoon release from prison, no thanks to useless lawyer Fonzie, in order to play God...
...and attempted to flee back to the heavens.
And throughout good old fashioned, fleshed out character development, we all remember why sometimes it's best not to be seen naked.
